Though I’m certain I’ve had better ideas, the idea I have right now is that I’m going to live blog both games of the Phillies/Marlins doubleheader that is scheduled to begin at 4:00. It’s a fairly important series in that any realistic hopes of the Marlins winning the NL East likely rest on a sweep. Joe Blanton starts the first game against Josh Johnson, and Marlins-killer Jamie Moyer starts the second game against Anibal Sanchez. Stop by around 4 and we’ll get started.

Jamie Moyer tries to win his 10th game of the season for the Phillies against Chicago’s Carlos Zambrano. I can’t imagine a matchup of two more different pitchers. Oh, and the Phillies will also try to win their 11th game in a row. That’s right, 11. Get excited. It’s live blog time.

After witnessing the worst two games of the season over the last two days, I decided to try to shake things up with a live blog. Joe Blanton goes for the Phillies, and if he could eat himself about 8 innings or so, that would be great.

We’ve got an interesting pitching match up tonight, between Antonio Bastardo and Jake Peavy. I have high hopes for Bastardo and high hopes that the Phillies will trade 4 or 5 prospects for Peavy. So I thought it would be fun to live blog what is hopefully the beginning of a long and beautiful relationship with Bastardo and the last time I see Peavy in a uniform that doesn’t say “Phillies” across the front. We’ll get started around 10:00 pm eastern. If you’re up, stop by.

Joe Blanton looked great for 4 innings before giving up 5 runs in the 5th, but the bullpen was able to shut down the Reds the rest of the way and the offense exploded for 12 runs as the Phillies took 2 of 3 in Cincinnati. I live blogged the whole thing, which you can read by clicking the link. But why would you want to after the game is over? It’s a nice day, go outside!

I’ll be live blogging Game 4 of Magic vs. Sixers. Philadelphia looks to take a commanding 3-1 lead on the Magic. We’ll kick things off around 6:30.

No matter what happens today with the Phillies (and as I write this the news isn’t good), I decided I would take a step back from the frustration of the past two days and do something I haven’t done for quite some time: watch an NBA basketball game. I’ve followed the Sixers enough this season to know that they are awful. But in order to distract myself from everything that’s going on with the Phils I thought I’d throw myself headlong into the 76ers for a game and see if they suck me in at all. I’m going into this thing with an open mind. I’ll share my thoughts on the direction of the Sixers during the live blog. If you’ve got nothing better to do, why not stop by?

I’ll be live blogging tonight’s Braves/Phillies season opener as part of my “Game of the Week” live blog series. Here’s how it works: Once a week I’ll choose a Phillies game for whatever reason and throw a party at my apartment. And I’ll live blog the whole thing. Hell, if you live in NYC maybe you can stop by. Or not. Actually, let’s get to know each other first. Anyway, we’ll kick things off around 8. I’ve made pork and sauerkraut for good luck. Should be fun. Go Phils!
